One of my favorite places to go to during the holiday season is Winterhaven. It is a little community where the houses put on the most amazing light displays. It is like having several Clark Griswold's in one place. Nothing can put you in the holiday spirit like this little community. It has become a tradition in our household to go each year.
Before we headed to the winter wonderland, we had a nice dinner at Oreg.anos. It has become one of our favorite places to dine. The pizza is delicious and the warm, baked cookie with ice cream on top is to die for. I could eat that for dinner easily.
Me and my little man at dinner!
Then we were off to Winterhaven to see the lights. I was really curious to see what Lucas would think of the lights this year. Last year, he enjoyed looking at them, but didn't really understand. This year he has been very interested in our Christmas lights so I knew he would like to see all of the houses lit up. Of course the night that we took him, turned out to be one of the colder nights this week, but that is all right. We had his winter gear from last Christmas when we traveled to Colorado. So we got him all bundled up with his winter coat, hat, mittens and a blanket.
He thought his mittens were a riot.
Isn't he just adorable in his winter gear!
Daddy and Lucas ready to check out the lights!
Mickey was a huge hit with Lucas.
There were several Mickeys dressed up like Santa in the community.
Mommy and Lucas.
Just love this little guy!
Of course, it wouldn't be a winter in Tucson if there wasn't a house that had fake snow for the kids to enjoy!
Lucas thought the snow was so much fun.
Here is is trying to catch the snowflakes.
Look at that big smile!
It makes me laugh at how fake snow can still be as exciting as real snow.
Then we came to Lucas' favorite house of all! If you look closely at Santa, he has a basketball in his hand. Santa and Frosty are playing basketball and the little penguin is the ref.
Lucas kept telling Santa to, "Shoot, shoot!"
Then he yelled at Santa, "Catch!"
Lucas wanted Santa to pass the ball so that he could catch it.
Too adorable!
Nothing gets much better than this!
It is definitely a Winter Wonderland!
