Sea World Time!

Our trip to San Diego wouldn't be complete if we didn't spend a day at Sea World. Luckily this past summer when Lucas and I traveled with the football team, I had purchased a year-round pass. So technically it was a free trip. You just can't beat that. I love going to Sea World with Lucas. Every time is a different experience. Now that he is a little older, he could do a little more and took in a lot more. 

Our first stop, was a photo op at the entrance of the park.

As soon as we walked in, Lucas noticed the Christmas tree and the fact that it had a star on top.

"Tree... Star!"

Here we are talking about our adventure that lies ahead.

I won't lie... It is hard to get a picture where Lucas is actually looking at the camera when I take the picture.

Of course, he wore his Elmo t-shirt.

I knew he would get to see Elmo that day and how cute would that picture be!

 Lucas has never been afraid of characters all dressed up in costume.

He thinks that they are a riot.

So it was no surprise that he wanted to take his picture with them.

 After posing for all of the pictures, it was time to hit the rides.

Lucas liked the rides, but I think he would have loved them, if I could have gone with him.

Luckily, he got to ride on the tea cups with Grandma Fildes, Morgan and Morgan's Grandma, Donna.

I think he had a good time.

My mom said that he held on tight to Morgan's hand the whole time.

 After the tea cup ride, we headed over to feed the seals.

He had a great time putting the fish into the feeding tube.

After each fish, he would say, "Again!" and then bark like a seal.

 After feeding the seals, we headed to the Shamu show. The last time we were at Sea World, the Shamu show didn't have any sound to it. Luckily, this time the sound was working. This made waiting a little better. It is a hard task for a 2-year old to wait 20 minutes for a show to start. They just don't quite get it. But he was a trooper and waited very nicely, for the most part.

 After each time Shamu (or any whale) would jump, he would say, "Again! Again!"

After sitting for about an hour, it was time to let him loose. Luckily, back in the land of Elmo, there is a little bouncy play pit for the little kids to run around in. This might have been one of the highlights of his day. While Lucas played in here, Grandma and Grandpa Fildes waited in line for Elmo and Cookie Monster. That way Lucas could get in line without having to wait too long before seeing his buddies.

 I must say, Elmo was really impressed with Lucas' Elmo t-shirt.

After Elmo we headed for the dolphin show. Again, asking a little 2-year old to wait 30 minutes for a show, it a little impossible. Then add in the heat of the day and you might as well have asked Lucas to give away all of his basketballs. He did make the wait and we watched the show, but after the show he was beat. We had a little late lunch, let him play in the ball pit and headed out. This little man (and Mommy) needed a little nap! Sea World was a success and I can't wait to go again next year with both children. It is hard to believe that we will be adding another little one to this adventure.
