Elfie & Christmas Time!

I have several memories of Christmas that make it such a special day in our family, but one of my favorite memories and a continued tradition is that of Elfie! Who is Elfie you ask? Why he is the little elf that brings you pj's on the night of Christmas Eve. So it was really important to continue that tradition with Lucas. Elfie delivers the pj's to the door and rings the doorbell! When Lucas heard the doorbell ring, he ran straight there! He was so excited when he opened the door and found a present and Elfie. The look on his face was priceless!

 Lucas and Elfie have become the best of buddies these last couple of days.

The pj's that he got that night are the ones that he wears the night of Christmas Eve.

 Needed to examine Elfie a little more.

I just love it that he immediately started calling him, "Elfie."

 What is currently a family of 3, will soon turn into a family of 4.

Hard to believe!

 After a very nice Christmas Eve with Matt's parents and grandparents, we headed home to get ready for Christmas morning. We had a busy night ahead of us. Matt and I had to finish wrapping a few presents, assemble a few toys, put in the stocking stuffers, set out cookies for Santa and prepare breakfast for the morning. I don't think we were in bed before 1 am. But it was worth it in the morning.

It seems that since Lucas has gotten older, the toys seem to be getting bigger. As you can see, Lucas got a Hot Wh.eels race track and a basketball arcade game that comes with several sports: basketball, golf, football, soccer, hockey and baseball. Oh yeah! That is a lot of sports combined into one lovely game.

 The morning of Christmas, Lucas woke up at 7:30. Such a good little boy to sleep that late for his mommy and daddy. Matt's parents and grandparents were coming over at 8 to open presents and eat breakfast. So we kept Lucas busy in our room until 8. Then we released him downstairs to see what Santa brought him.

The first thing he spotted was the arcade. He played that for a few hours (just kidding a few minutes) before moving on to the racetrack. It did take us awhile to get Lucas to open all of his gifts. He would open a present and play with it, shoot some hoops, play with the racetrack, shoot a little more hoops and then open a present. Repeat this process several times and we finally got Lucas to open all of his gifts before noon.  We did take a little break in between to eat a little breakfast.

I would say, it was a very successful Christmas for this little man!
