Who's Birthday is Next?

That is a question we are constantly hearing from Lucas. Every time we celebrate someone's birthday the following day comes the question, "Who's birthday is next?" He asks this at least once a day. I think it is his way of seeing if his birthday is next. Poor guy... He has to wait until October. I think he is anxious about it because we are taking him back to Disneyland for his birthday. 

Yesterday we did get to celebrate Grandpa Johnson's birthday! This was very exciting for Lucas. We have been talking about Grandpa Johnson's birthday since we celebrated Uncle Wayne and Aunt Donna's birthday over a month ago. 

Lucas truly has a lot of fun with his Grandpa Johnson. Who wouldn't? They play golf every afternoon when Lucas gets out of preschool. Macie also has fun with her Grandpa Johnson. It is her first word when she gets to their house every day. Plus, Grandpa Johnson is the one who gets her out of the car. This is because only Grandma Johnson is allowed to get Lucas out of the car. 

So yesterday we went over to Grandma & Grandpa Johnson's house and had a little birthday party. The favorite part of the night for Lucas and Macie was dessert. My kids LOVE sweets. They get this from their Daddy! Lucas even read the words on the cake, but added an extra line. It said Happy Birthday Grandpa... Lucas added the word Johnson. So to him the cake said, Happy Birthday Grandpa Johnson. 

Lucas of course helped to blow out the candles. Earlier in the day, I asked him if he wanted to practice singing Happy Birthday. He told me, "No. I wait." When the time came, he sang if perfectly. No practice needed. 

We ended the night by going fishing. One of Grandpa's favorite hobbies. Often Grandpa Johnson has to go to work which means that he is either fishing or golfing. But to Luke, Grandpa is at work. Keep in mind that Grandpa is retired. Lucas did get a fish to bite! Unfortunately, they left me in charge of reeling it in and so we left without catching one single fish. Not my forte. Maybe next time.

By the way... "Who's birthday is next?" was already asked. Luckily, we only have to wait a couple of weeks and it is Cousin Morgan's birthday!
