The moment we were all waiting for. The moment we have been talking about for months. The moment that made the long car ride, lack of sleep, preparation worth every penny! We talked about which park we would start at and trying to think what will get him "hooked" and which rides he would love to go on. So we decided that we would start with California Adventures and head for the new Cars Land. Lucas loves the Cars movies and we new he would enjoy riding with the characters from the movies. Boy were we right! It was the perfect choice to get him all pumped up.
Plus it didn't hurt that as soon as we walked into the park, Mickey was right there to greet us. How perfect! We knew Lucas would love all of the characters. But we really were anticipating how he would be when he saw Mickey. He was so happy. He had the biggest grin on his face. I will never forget the look on Lucas' face. Priceless. The other moment was how would Macie react to the characters. Well, she was in love with them too! Mickey gave her a little kiss with his nose and she had the biggest smile on her face and even giggled! Again, priceless!

The village that it takes to go to Disneyland. Grandma Johnson, Matt (Dad), Lucas, Georgia (mom), Macie, Grandma Fildes and Grandpa Fildes.
It was so nice to have everyone there. It makes is a lot more enjoyable and a lot less stressful. Matt and I were able to go on a few rides knowing that the grandparents had the kids. So nice. We really cannot stress how thankful that we are that everyone came. Plus these are moments that grandparents live for.
The very first ride we went on was the "Towmater Tractors." Lucas loves "Towmamer." Lucas and Matt rode together. He really enjoyed this ride. He was so proud of himself. After the ride, he was walking out of the gate and said, "I did it. All by myself!" Followed by a Tiger fist pump in the air. He did this after every ride. Every time! Adorable!

Lucas even got to meet Towmater!
After meeting his favorite Cars character, we made our way to the "Luigi Flying Tires." This was one of the longest lines we waited in (40 minutes). Again, when you are taking an almost 3 year old, you don't know how waiting in line patiently is going to turn out. Is he going to wait nicely, is he going to wait a little while and then be "all done," is he going to make it to his turn and be "all done?" Luckily, there was a lot for him to look at and a little game of eye spy never hurts. I am glad we waited the whole time because it was one of his favorite rides. Although, I think every ride he enjoyed and would have done over and over.
This time I got to ride with him. Matt and I took turns getting to ride with Lucas so that we could both enjoy the look on his face as he was riding.
The best part of this ride is that you get to hit people with your tire. Lucas thought this was hilarious.
After hitting another tire, he would say, "Hit people!" Then he would break out in laughter. Then ask to do it again.
After a few rides we go to meet Donald Duck. Again, another favorite character. Every time, he would walk right up to them, give the a huge hug and then stand for a picture. Not even a thought of hesitation.
Look at the smile!
Macie and Grandpa having some quality time.
Enjoying every moment together!
Lucas spotted Lightning McQueen and couldn't wait to see him. As he was driving by, Lucas asked if he could drive McQueen. He was so disappointed that he couldn't.

Staring at Mr. Potato Head!
I wasn't too sure how Lucas would handle the 3D glasses. We have tried the glasses a couple of times before when we were in San Diego and he wanted nothing to do with them. This time, he couldn't wait to wear them. I think it was because Daddy was wearing them.
Sporting the 3D glasses.
My little daredevil. I was so happy that she got to go on a ride.
Lucas enjoyed every minute of the ride. I think Matt and Lucas went on it 4 or 5 times. Macie and I went on it twice. Her head was swiveling from side to side checking everything out.
Matt and Lucas (who you can barely see) in the "Pop, Pop, Pop" ride.
A couple more of the characters that Lucas enjoys.
Lucas and Jesse.
Lucas and Woody. Seriously, look at the big hug!
We were a little sad that we weren't able to ride the Radiator Springs Racers. Lucas was a half inch short. So sad. Lucas didn't even know he wasn't able, but Matt was super disappointed and a little upset.
After a morning full of adventure, we went back to the hotel to rest for a bit. Then we made our way to Disneyland. Again, we knew Lucas would love this place as well.
Ready to head to Disneyland!
Look at how chill they are in the stroller! Seriously!
Again, we were anticipating the excitement that this would bring to Lucas and Macie. We had to take the traditional picture in front of the Mickey Garden.
We went on quite a few rides including a roller coaster. Lucas really enjoyed the roller coaster, but as soon as we got off and he did his Tiger fist pump he said, "Too fast!" It was really cute. I think he would have gone on it again, but we had more rides to tackle.

Lucas & Matt on the Buzz ride. Again, this one was nicknamed as Zap, Zap, Zap!
Small World with my littles. Macie slept through the ride.
We really enjoyed how the park was all decorated for Halloween!
Really brings you into the fall spirit!
The family! I just love them!
Again, we got to meet some more characters. I couldn't be more proud of how he would walk right up to them and take a picture. So cute!
Lucas & Minnie Mouse! A huge smile on his face!
We finished the night back at California Adventures. They have a wonderful new show. Macie & Lucas slept through the show. I think he would have love it.
