Macie is 1 Month Old!

It is hard to believe that our little Macie is already 1 month old. Man time flies! There are definitely not enough words to describe how complete we feel now that Macie is part of our family. She is a very sweet little girl. She has had her moments for sure... Such as projectile pooping on Mommy! Good times. Definitely not very lady like. We will have to work on that with her.

Today Macie had her second visit with the doctor. She is growing and doing all of the things a 1 month old needs to be doing at this point. Raising her head off the ground, tracking with her eyes, eating as she should and sleeping well. The doctor did say she should start sleeping between 4-5 hours at night within the next month! I can't tell you how nice that will be. Right now she is sleeping between 2-3 hours at a time.

We have a fairly good schedule going with her. She gets up around 7 am am to eat. After eating she plays for a little while or goes back to sleep until 9 am (especially when Daddy is home). They like to sleep in together. Around 9 am she usually goes down for her morning nap until 11 am. Then she has a little snack and plays for a little while until 1 when she goes down for her afternoon nap until around 3 pm. Now from 3-5 pm she plays and cuddles. From 6-8 pm is usually her "twilight" time. At which point she is tired, but not tired enough to go to sleep. Nothing really at this point makes her too happy other than being walked around the house. Once she settles down, she has her last feeding and falls asleep until 11 pm, 2 am, 5 am. All for feedings. Macie is mostly breastfed, but we do supplement with formula. This allows for Daddy to take a feeding or two during the day or night. This is good Daddy and Macie bonding time. Also, with a 2-year old who is busy, it is nice to be able to grab a bottle to feed her real quick... Especially when the 2-year old is being potty trained, opening the pantry to get his own snack, climbing on a chair in the kitchen or just getting into normal 2-year old trouble!

The Stats:
Weight: 8 pounds 12 ounces (36th percentile)
Length: 20 inches (12th percentile)
Head Circumference: 36 cm (24th percentile)
Hair Color: brown with blonde & red highlights
Eye Color: blue (they were brown at birth)... We will see if they stay blue.

Lets Compare to Lucas' Stats at 1 Month (these are actually his 3 week stats):
Weight: 8 pounds 3 ounces (23rd percentile)
Length: 20 inches (19th percentile)
Head Circumference: 37 cm (42nd percentile)

So she is a little more petite in length, but a little chubbier... I love my little chubby girl! She is perfect!

Thanks Anabelle and Mary for the wonderful idea of how to capture the monthly pictures!
