Before & After

Now that Lucas is MORE mobile... Matt and I were discussing how our lives have truly changed in just 10 (way too fast 10) months. Here is a little comparison as to our lives Before and After.

Before - Our living room was neat and tidy AND clutter free.

After - Now our living room is filled with toys and clutter. Which seems to be the never ending pile of stuff we continue to pick up, just to have it dumped in a matter of minutes.

Before - We were free to move around our house.

After - We now have barricades all around to keep Lucas out of trouble. You know... pulling on plugs, lifting himself on to tables, pulling the window shades, climbing up stairs, etc... Seriously you should see how we have rigged our house so that Lucas can move around without getting into trouble.

Before - Our television was clean.

After - Now there are tiny little handprints all over the front.

Before - We were in control of our remote controls.

After - Lucas is in control. We have learned to hit a different source button so that he can't change the channel. But his favorite button to push is the television screen button so the size of the show changes from big to little to stretched.

Before- We used to watch movies like Wedding Crashers and Stepbrothers.

After - We watch Elmo movies and sing-a-long dvds.

Before - Our counters were clear.

After - Our counters are covered. Every little bit of it. There are bottles, wash rags, formula, bottle water, sippy cups, tummy medicine... The list goes on.

Before - Our dinners were quiet.

After - Our dinners are very noisy. If you couldn't tell, Lucas LOVES food and he lets you know as he is eating. He truly enjoys anything food related.

Before - We would come home from work and veg out on the couch watching mindless t.v.

After- We come home from work and play with Lucas. No vegging allowed at this house. You are always on the move until bedtime and THEN you veg out on the couch watching mindless t.v. that you saved on DVR. Thank goodness for DVR.

Before - Our lives were nice and wonderful.

After- Our lives are filled with joy, love and happiness. Even though our lives have changed dramatically, we wouldn't trade it for anything. We are truly blessed to have Lucas in our lives and we LOVE him dearly. We are now a family.

How can you not LOVE this little boy!

He is the best.

He makes all of the AFTERS priceless.
