Well week 18 was a busy one for the family! First I will tell you what the baby has been up to and then I will tell you what the family has been up to.
The "Little One" is now the size of a sweet potato. It is about 5 and 1/2 inches long and weighs about 7 ounces. The baby is busy moving which makes me slow down and I have trouble catching my breath at times. It is hiccuping, yawning, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, and moving all over the place. Still haven't felt much movement, but then again, I am a first time mom and not sure what it is supposed to feel like. I tell it is shifting from side to side because every once in awhile my belly is lopsided. It is weird to look down and see the belly off to one side.
Now for our Chicago trip! It has been Matt's lifelong dream to go to Chicago to see the Cubs play. I guess since he has taken me to New York to see Grease on Broadway, I owed him this trip. Plus, we are trying to get all of our sightseeing out of the way before the "Little One" comes. We arrived in Chicago on Tuesday and checked into our hotel which was located on Magnificent Mile! The perfect location for a shopper & sightseer.
That evening we went to Harry Caray's restaurant. It was delicious! It is a great restaurant so if you get the chance to go to Chicago, make sure you at least stop in to see all of the Cubs paraphernalia. This is a picture of me outside of Harry Caray's with my 18 week belly.

The following day (Wednesday) we went to our first Cubs game. Matt was able to get me on the subway. It wasn't so bad and it is a lot cheaper than taking a cab. We sat in the bleachers in the outfield. It was a great game. The Cubs won and Zambrano got kicked out. This is a picture of Matt at the game and a few pictures of the great view!
That evening we met up with my sister Shawna and had our first taste of deep dish Chicago pizza. We ate at Pizza Due. It was delicious, but at first taste we all thought it wasn't what it was all it is cracked up to be.
Then on Thursday we went to the Navy Pier. It is a little walk by the Great Lake Michigan. There is an amusement park and little shops. Here are a few pictures from our trip there.
That evening we all went to the Cubs game. This time we sat behind home plate near the third base line. It was a great view of the field. Even though it was a great game, the Cubs lost. Boo Hoo! Then after the game we decided to give deep dish pizza another try. This time we ate at Giordano's. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! Our opinion of pizza changed. Quoting Matt, "It is a meal!" He was still full from the pizza the next morning.
The following day (Friday), we went to our final Cubs game. This time we sat right on the third baseline. It was a ton of fun, but by this point I was a little baseballed out. Matt had finally had his dream come true. Here is a picture of us at the last game!
Also, here is a picture of our "Little One's" first Cubs tee. He or she will look so cute in it! I can't wait to see Matt & the "Little One" celebrating a Cubs victory in their Cubs shirts.
Now we are back home, doing laundry, and resting. Week 19 begins tomorrow. I will be sure to update you on how the wee-one is growing.

Your trip looks so fun and your belly is adorable!! Yay!!
