August Adventures!

The month of August was a busy one. Which explains the lack of blogging. So I am going to give you the run down of what we did in August. We partied, football started, we played, and we painted. Oh and we have been busy with preschool!

Lucas has been super busy with school. He goes 4 days a week from 7 am until 3:30 most days. Fridays are his favorite day because he gets to spend them at Grandma & Grandpa Johnson's house. Not that he doesn't love preschool because he does, once he gets there. But Fridays are more fun because he gets to play on Grandma's Wii! Poor Grandma has had to buy new batteries for the remote probably twice in the month of August. Along with preschool Lucas has joined the t-ball club at school that meets two Wednesdays a month. Unfortunately with all of the half days in August he has only gone once. But he loved it. Also, parents aren't allowed to attend club so I don't have any pictures. Sad!

But to get back to our adventures. Lucas attended his first real birthday party that wasn't a family member or Cousin Morgan's! Lucas had a blast! There were games, candy galore and party favors. The best part we were celebrating one of the "Trifecta's" 4th birthday!

The "Trifecta" reunited to party hard!

Lucas blindfolded to pin the 95 on Lightning McQueen.
Along with partying, we have been preparing for Football Friday nights! Matt is helping with Varsity football again this year so instead of Friday Family Movie Night, we have Friday Family Football Night! We have been to two football games. One was inner squad scrimmage called the "Copper Navy Game." The other was the season opener. Copper Navy night is a fun night for Lucas because he gets to spend most of the night on the field with the Big Boys with Daddy.

Of course like true Cienega athletic supporters, my kids have to wear their Copper and Navy gear. This year I got a little smarter when I made Macie's shirt. This time it says C.H.S. with a blue bow so she can wear it for football and later on for basketball. That is, if she doesn't outgrow it. The challenge this year with football is that last year Macie was perfectly fine hanging out in the baby carrier, now she wants to run around. I can get her to stay in the stroller for about a quarter and then she is ready to break free. So now I have two kids to chase around while watching a game. Thank goodness there is popcorn that will get them to hold still for a little while so Mom can catch some of the game.

Then we had some fun just hanging out and playing together! The kids are really starting to play with each other and sometimes Mommy and Daddy don't even need to participate. They are two of a kind. What ever Lucas does, Macie thinks she can do it to. It kind of reminds me of the song, "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better."

Who doesn't put blocks in your mouth and spit them into the bin?
It really is quite fun!

Then because there are just some days that are TOO HOT to go outside, you improvise. You get out the paper and paints! You put them in Daddy's old t-shirts for smocks and you let them get messy! Also, in my attempt to summon the fall season, you draw pictures of trees and only give them fall colors to decorate them with. So away they went! Some of the paint ended up on the paper to create beautiful pictures and some of the paint ended up in hair and on faces! But there is always water to clean them up!

She is starting out so nicely with the paint!
Same for him!
Then there was a little warrior paint on the faces!

Then we decided to try our hand at hair coloring.
She is a beauty school drop out!
Yes... She is that petite that she fits in the sink!
But in the end, we have these wonderful masterpieces!

And I will leave you with these photos that sum up my life!
My little gangsta!
My little cowboy!
