A One Year Old!

Our baby girl is now a 1-year old! What happened? Where did the time go? It is still hard for me to comprehend. I can remember the day of her birth so clearly. I can still hear Matt whispering to me, "We have our little girl!" She is just perfect! As much as I am going to miss having a little baby in the house, I am excited to see what this year will have in store for her. Macie has learned so much in one year, it will be amazing to see what adventures she will encounter! Macie is just amazing!

Highlights of being a 1 Year Old!
* Macie got her first hair cut. She has been needing it for awhile. Her hair is so long and it is always in her eyes unless we put it up. She wasn't such a fan. I hope this isn't a sign!
Look at the pouty lip...
Followed by the full on cry!
But she looks so cute with her haircut!
* We celebrated Grandpa Fildes' birthday. She was such a good girl at dinner. Also, she really enjoyed the chocolate cake. She is truly a Grandpa's Girl!

* We had our first snow and then another one for the 2013 year. Macie enjoyed playing in it. It was the best thing since sliced bread. She is just like her Mommy and loves the snow.
Yes... She is in her pj's sitting in the snow.
But she loved every moment of it!

New Words:
* cheese (usually when we take out the camera)
* all done
* up
* baby
* Bubba (that is what she calls Lucas)
She is really starting to pick up on words and talking. It is so cute! She mimics a lot of sounds and really tries to say things. Macie is going to be a talker.
* Also, she is doing a great job with signing. She signs more when she is eating. It is super cute. After she signs, she will look at Matt and just smile. As if to say, "I am so cute!"

Sleep:
* Macie is a great sleeper most of the time. She goes to bed around 7 pm and doesn't usually wake until 6:30 am. Every once in awhile she has a bad night of sleep, but it usually accompanied by a cold.
* She is starting to get the hang of napping. She takes about an hour nap in the morning and a 1-2 hour nap in the afternoon. We are getting ready to transition her to one nap. We will see!
* Macie is a belly sleeper. Nothing we can do about it. We lay her down on her back and she flips right over, tucks her legs under her and falls asleep with her toosh sticking up in the air. She also loves to sleep with her blankie.

Eats:
* We are on whole milk! Woo Hoo! This makes us very happy and she is transitioning to it perfectly! She will drink it from anything... Bottle or sippy. She is doing great with using a sippy. We usually give her milk in a bottle for bed. It is just more comforting for her.
* Macie eats anything! We haven't started her on many meats. If it is part of a pasta dish she has had some, but no meat on its own. Definitely not a picky eater... for now. We will see as she gets older.
* Her favorites right now include: strawberries, grapes, pasta, goldfish and string cheese.

Likes:
* Macie loves to be all over the place and now that she is walking, she is taking full advantage of it. She is EVERY WHERE!

* Macie loves her new rocking horse. She is a wild child on that thing.
* She loves to go to basketball games. This is a good thing. We have been to Phoenix 3 times in the last two weeks for basketball. I am impressed with how well she deals with the long days. But at the games, she is so involved.
* Half time and the end of the game are her favorites because she can move all over the place.

Macie loves to play ball with the trainers after the game.
They girls are so in love with her!

This is Macie hiding under the water cooler at the game.
Funny!
* Macie is still a Daddy's girl! She loves her Daddy... She puts up with her Mommy. I love their bond. It is priceless!

Dislikes:
* Macie is not a fan of the Bobcat that is at the basketball games. I think she believes they are real. They totally freak her out. She doesn't cry, but she gets a pouty lip and holds on to you for dear life.
* My own dislike is now she is referred to as a toddler. Makes me sad! She will always be my baby girl!
* Macie has her first double ear infection. Sad. She didn't show any signs at all. No ear pulling, no fever, no crazy sleep patterns... Nothing. Poor girl. I did notice that as she got her ear infection, she also broke two molars. So I am guessing the ear infection might have been triggered by breaking teeth.
