I can not tell you how fast these 6 months have gone. Time really does fly. I just want to rewind time at moments. Then there are moments when it is fun to see how much she has changed from a little newborn to a little baby. I love how she interacts with her brother. I think they are going to be great friends. I hope so at least. He is definitely protective of her which will hopefully pay off when she is in high school and will need her brother to watch over her. Macie is just the cutest thing. I really couldn't have asked for a better baby, even if she does have her fiery moments. Even though she doesn't have bright red hair, she does have a fiery personality. Very similar to Luke's. We are truly blessed to have such a sweet little girl and a handsome little boy. Life is definitely complete with the both of them... And VERY busy. There is never a dull moment at the Johnson house. But I wouldn't change any of it.
Highlights of being 6 Months:
Highlights of being 6 Months:
* Macie is now sitting up all by herself. She can do it unsupported, but her little head can take control and tip her over. So we still keep a bumbo around her to avoid little spills.
* She is so close to crawling. She gets up and is ready to go, but just can't get a move on it. I would not be surprised if she is crawling by 7 months. The other day she turned her self completely around in a circle. We just need to get going forward. Although once that happens, I think she will be chasing her brother around.
* Macie's cousins (Noah & Abby), Aunt Kim and Uncle Wayne come to visit. She got really spoiled and loved every minute.
* Macie is definitely a Daddy's Girl. Anytime she sees Matt her whole face lights up and she gets the biggest smile on her face. In fact, she loves him so much that she said her first word. "Da Da!" Since then she has said "Ma Ma!" But I will never live down the fact that she said Da Da first.
* Macie has 2 teeth! So we are in full drooling chewing on everything mode. She got her bottom two. So cute!
* Macie had her first night alone with a babysitter. We took Lucas and the Fraleighs to Gaslight Theater. Macie stayed home with Jordan (a good family friend) and did great. She pretty much slept the whole time.

Sleep:
* Macie has been a fairly good sleeper. She has nights were she wakes up about 3:30 to eat. But she really only eats a couple of ounces and goes back to sleep. We are trying to break her of this habit. We will see how this goes.
* She still loves to be swaddled at night and as long as it means good sleep, I am all in.
* Macie is also in love with her Great Grandma. Great Grandma has a special touch that puts Macie right to sleep for her afternoon nap. She sings Macie a little song and pushes her around in the stroller and Macie falls fast asleep. Magic Touch!
Eats:
* Macie is now eating a variety of baby food. She loves fruit the most. We even tried a few of the Ger.ber puffs. NOT a fan of those yet. She gagged. We will try those again in a couple of weeks.
* She is still on her sensitive formula, but now she is drinking about 5-6 ounces at at time.
Likes:
* Macie loves to be outside. If she starts to fuss a little, take her outside and she calms right down.
* She loves to watch Daddy and Lucas play tennis. She gets the cutest giggles. So funny!
* She is really starting to interact with toys more which is fun to see. It isn't batting at them anymore, it is actually playing with them.
* Macie loves to have her brother feed her. She gets the giggles when he feeds her lunch or dinner.
* Macie doesn't HATE her carseat any more. She has been a good traveler. The trick... She loves to watch Mickey on the i.Pad. If she has Mickey to entertain her while we are running errands, she is a happy baby. Plus, she is now falling asleep while in the car. Makes a huge difference for a Mommy who loves her trips to Tar.get.
Dislikes:
* Macie doesn't really dislike much. Mostly she doesn't like it when her brother isn't playing with her. The problem is that Lucas doesn't always want to play with her. But he does love to make her laugh. He will say, "Macie laugh, Macie laugh!"
* One thing she REALLY does not like is breathing treatments. Macie caught a little cold from her brother (sharing is caring), but that means she is on breathing treatments every 4 hours except when she is sleeping. We have found that the best way to give her a treatment is when she is in her carseat. We did this trick with Lucas when he was on breathing treatments at the same age. For right now we are hoping that after a week of treatments she will not be a little wheezer. But if the wheezing continues, we might be headed down the same path as Lucas with his asthma. We will see what happens after a week of treatments. The doctor said the possibilities include a cold, allergies or asthma. Either way, we have a good pulmonologist.
