Santa Baby & Mikowash!

So this weekend has been full of holiday events. It started out with a visit to the Pancake Breakfast at school. I had to work for some of the morning, so Matt brought Lucas in time to meet Santa. It is the best deal. One picture with Santa for one dollar. You really can't beat the price. We knew that the meeting would go one of two ways. Either Lucas would LOVE Santa or he would NOT. Well... the picture speaks for itself. It was just too cute!

The picture although it cost $1... is priceless.
Definitely making the Christmas card this year!

Then Sunday was my mom's birthday. Even though we couldn't be there to celebrate with her (she is in Colorado), Lucas couldn't pass up the opportunity to call her on the phone. When I tried to take the cell phone away, he threw a fit. So I decided to put her on speaker, wishing he wouldn't hang up on her, call China, text random strangers... To cap Grandma Fildes' birthday off, Lucas found a balloon that was in her bedroom here and was having a blast playing with it.

Happy Birthday Grandma Fildes!
Can't wait to see you soon.

The eve of December 5th, Mikowash (the Czechoslovakian St. Nicholas), comes to houses. Matt is part Czechoslovakian and has celebrated this tradition for years. This year we were excited because we knew Lucas would understand the idea of presents a little more. Not fully, but a little more than last year. The tradition of Mikowash, is that you set out a shoe on the night of December 5th. In the morning, you will get a present and a rock. The size of the rock tells you how good or bad you have been during the year. Lucas' rock was the smallest. I will let you make a prediction on who got the biggest rock in our house. Lucas had a blast opening his Mikowash presents this morning.
Here are the shoes, rocks and presents.
Lucas received the complete set of famous Christmas movies (Rudolph, Frosty...)
Also, he got another Cedermont Kids video. This time it is the Christmas songs.
Finally, he got an Elmo camera.
See how little his rock is.
Such a good little boy!
Here is Lucas opening up his Cedermont video.
He loved tearing the paper.

Can you tell he was so excited?

"Thank You Mikowash!"
Can't wait until Christmas to see the excitement of all of the other presents!
