This holiday season has been a wonderful and busy one! We have been traveling, playing, visiting, exploring... The list can go on, but it has been a blessed one. So versus writing about it in a lot of detail... I am going to celebrate the holiday season through captions of pictures. Enjoy!
Here is Lucas waiting so patiently for our plane ride to Colorado to visit my family.
We took this flight minus Matt. He made a little pit stop in Vegas before joining us in Colorado for Christmas.
He was so great on the plane. He slept the entire 2 hour flight!
I will not tell a lie... I was very worried about traveling with a very active and mobile 14 month old.
But he was fabulous!
The day Matt joined us from his successful trip to Vegas, we headed to the Denver Zoo.
They light up the zoo at night and it is so perfect for the season's festivities.
Lucas is all bundled up in his fleece, hat and mittens.
He was not very happy at first about putting on the hat, but it kept his little head warmed and he adjusted to it.

If you remember my post from our Colorado trip from this summer, the kids took a phone with this bear last time.
It is a family tradition to take a photo at this point every time we visit.

These are some of the best grandparents in the world.
My mom created a new tradition this year with little Lucas.
Lucas got a present every day that we were in Colorado.
She claimed it was because she didn't have any cool toys for him to play with.
I think it is because she likes to spoil him.

For my parents' gift to us girls, we were treated to a ladies night out!
This included ALL of the ladies.
We went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
Followed by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. If you haven't heard of them, please feel free to Goog.le it. They are the hard rockers of Christmas music. All of the ladies had a fabulous time "whipping our hair back and forth."

One of Lucas' favorite things to do at Grandma and Grandpa Fildes was to play in their footstools.
Other favorites included chasing the Bumpus hounds around the house, feeding the Bumpus hounds from his high chair, and grabbing the tails of the Bumpus Hounds.
The Bumpus Hounds are my parents' dogs (Buck and Buster), my sister Donna's dog (Skamp), and my sister Shawna's dog (Herbie).
One thing my mom really wanted for Christmas was a picture of all of the cousins together.
So we agreed to take Lucas to a professional photography session.
This is the first time he has had his picture taken in a studio and by someone other than Mommy. We were a little nervous about how he would do, but he was a trooper and the pictures turned out fabulous!
On the way to the place, Lucas feel asleep in the car. This was a little blessing because then he was refreshed and ready to give his handsome best for the pictures.
Lucas loves to play with bead toys and the picture place had one.
He was so happy!

We have learned that Lucas is a happy picture taker.

After Christmas Eve service, we made our way to a house in Longmont that captures the holiday spirit.
Those of us who know about Winterhaven would wish that this house would relocate their. The outside is covered completely with scenes, lights, songs and candy canes galore. We stop at this house each year. It is so pretty and there are so many things to look at.
We knew we had to take Lucas to see it.
He really enjoyed looking at all of the Christmas scenes and lights.
This was the first time, we got to peek into the house and let me tell you.
The inside is just as decorated as the outside!
Clark Griswold would be so proud.
Another opportunity for a family picture!
You just have to capture these precious moments.
One of our holiday traditions includes homemade stockings.
Each time a family member is added, a stocking is hand sewn for them.
When Matt and I got married, I made his stocking. My mom always sews the name on.
This year Lucas had his stocking which my mom put together for him last year, but we didn't get the chance to use it since we were in San Diego. So this was the first time I got to see his.

Another family tradition is that on Christmas Eve, Santa sends a elf to deliver new pajamas for us to wear on Christmas Eve. The name of this wonderful elf is Elfie. This was again, the first year Lucas got to enjoy Elfie delivering pj's for him to wear. Not sure why I didn't take a picture of him in his new pj's. They were adorable.

Then it was time for the BIG DAY! Christmas!
We were so excited for Lucas to open his presents, but I think his cousins were more excited as we got a 6:13 am wake up call!
I might have forgotten to mention that while Lucas stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Fildes' house, we stayed at my sister Shawna's house.
Yes folks... that means that we spent 7 nights away from our little man. We did put him to bed each night, but he spent his mornings with his grandparents. This has lead to many restful nights and mornings of sleeping in for us.
Don't judge. You would do the same think if the chance came along. Plus Shawna's house is literally 5 minutes at the most away from Grandma and Grandpa.
Anyway... back to the BIG DAY! As I was telling you we were so excited about seeing Lucas open presents, we might have forgotten that he is only one and not really sure what this excitement means.
So as you can see by the picture above, he wasn't too thrilled at first about opening presents on command. He would tear a little paper, then run around the house. Tear a little bit more, run some more. We ended up opening most of the presents for him, but the excitement was still there.
Here he is opening his present from Aunt Shawna.
She was so kind as to get him a drum this year. (Read into the sarcasm.)
He does love to play his drum and everything else that will make a noise.
As all good things must come to an end, our trip to Colorado must too.
We had a great time and couldn't have asked for a better time with family.
We were spoiled to pieces by my parents and we LOVE them dearly.
Something that will mark this holiday season is the fact that I, Georgia, hold the Wii 3 Point Shooting contest record at 25 points out of 30. This is a great victory and I would like to point out the fact that Matt tried, although, not successfully to beat my record for over 2 hours, I am still the champion!
Here is the little man sitting in his own seat on the plane ride back to Tucson. We had a flight in the morning that allowed us to have a spare seat in our row and Lucas LOVED sitting all by himself (for a total of 3 minutes) before he needed to play with something.
Again, he did great on his flight. He played for the first hour of the flight and slept for the second hour of the flight!
Mom and Dad couldn't be prouder.
We returned home, Lucas got to see what Santa had brought him.
It is a Toy Stor.y tunnel and tent.
Santa had a wonderful idea and the child has a great time crawling through it and peeking at Daddy on the other side.
You would think that Christmas would have been over, but when we returned home we got to celebrate the rest of the holiday season with Matt's side of the family.
Matt's sister and her family flew to Tucson from South Carolina to spend Christmas with us.
So the night we came home, we had another Christmas.
Again, Lucas was spoiled with presents from his Aunt and Uncle and his Grandpa and Grandma Johnson.
Again, we opened up most of the presents for Lucas.
But as the week has progressed he has played with ALL of them.
Here is Lucas throwing the hammer at Uncle Wayne.
The hammer was supposed to go with his workbench where he is supposed to hammer the nails down, but Uncle Wayne showed him that it is more fun to throw the hammer at people.
I couldn't agree more, because the belly laugh that goes with the throwing is irresistible.
Not to be outdone by the Colorado Cousins, the Carolina Cousins wanted professional photos with Lucas. Matt wasn't too sure. He said, "You are testing fate, twice."
But they turned out just as fabulous as the first time.
The pictures are a little small, but they are wonderful.
Lucas is again, playing with a bead toy at the picture place, this time with Cousin Noah.
This is what we like to call the 2 Lumpias and the Drubnet.
As we were looking at the pictures, Matt noticed that our little boy stands out a little bit.
Noah and Abby are part Filipino while our little boy is part Chzechoslovakian.
So we nicknamed them the Lumpias (a Filipino eggroll) and the Drubnet (a Chzechoslovakian pastry).

He had such a great time with them and they were so great with him.
They played until they couldn't play any more, but continued playing until Lucas went to bed.

This was their last day here and he had so much fun playing with his Aunt Kim and Uncle Wayne. If only they lived a little closer.
