One Year Later!

It still baffles me that Lucas is now a year old. He is such an amazing little boy and he has made us so happy! Today Lucas had his one-year appointment. He was running around and playing until... the 3 shots came along. He was so NOT happy. He did the silent scream and his faced turned RED. Finally huge tears came flowing out of his eyes and then came the scream. The last few times he has had shots, he would cry a little, but this time he knew and couldn't stand it. Overall the appointment went great. The doctor said he is growing at the 70th percentile rate and is very healthy. Always great news!

Here are his 1 YEAR old stats:
weight: 25 pounds
length: 31 inches
size clothes: 24 months months
foot size: 6/7
teeth: Eight! His 1 year old molers have broken through on top and are starting to break through on the bottom. This means 6 on top and 2 on the bottom with 2 more coming!

Top 10 Things Lucas Does that Amaze Us!

1. Runs... Not walks where he wants to go.

2. Loves to play fetch with his brother, Husker... Even though Husker is not such a fan of this.

3. Gets the biggest smile on his face when he sees anyone he knows... Mom, Dad, Grandma or Grandpa... It is the best feeling in the world.

4. How he finds the littlest things so funny... Pushing a ball into bead toy, falling down, playing golf... etc.

5. Playing peek-a-book from behind the couch, inside the curtains, under a pillow! He thinks it is HYSTERICAL! He laughs so hard that he gets the hiccups.

6. Playing chase in the closet while trying to get ready for bath time. He thinks it is great to run around "all natural" in the closet pulling all of my socks out of the drawer.

7. He loves to brush his own teeth. I brush them to start and then he steals it away and tries to brush.

8. How he would rather eat his peas instead of the other food on his tray. I know he is mine... But I don't like peas. So I am not sure where this taste bud came from.

9. When Lucas is really upset... as soon as you take him outside, he calms right down... Instantly! It is our secret tip. I am sure all parents out there do this as well.

10. Finally and most importantly, he is the happiest baby! Because he is so happy, he makes the world a happy place. Words cannot explain how important he is in our lives and how special he is to us. It is the little things that speak louder than words! We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful son!
