So my little lady is now 2 years old! It is really hard to believe two years have gone by. It has gone so fast!!! She is truly an amazing little girl. Macie is smart and sweet! She loves to play with Lucas and will do anything to earn his affection. She is also SUPER feisty! If you were to look up the terrible twos in a dictionary you would see a picture of Macie! She holds the gold medal for drama.
Macie has learned to fake cry and will stand at the bottom of the steps and fake cry while saying... "I crying! I so sad!" She has also learned how to push Lucas' buttons. Her favorite thing to do is to say, "My mommy!" To which Lucas replies, "We share mommy and daddy." Which then leads to her fake crying! It is a vicious cycle. But then she will follow up her fake crying, or falling on the floor tantrum with, "I love you Mommy!" So it makes it hard to be mad at her for long.
Along with her feisty attitude, she has been banned from a lot of shopping places. Here is a list of places Macie is no longer allowed to go to: Frys, Target, Traders Joes, Party City, etc. The problem is that she will not sit in a cart or a stroller. She likes to roll her own and run through the stores.
Even though she is a spit fire, we love her from her head to her toes! She has definitely made our family complete!
Anyway on to her birthday celebration! Macie is like the Very Hungry Caterpillar. She loves to eat and will try anything. There is rarely a food that she does not like. So I thought it would be perfect to have a Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday. It was fun to plan for her party!
Of course we still kept the party small with just our family, the grandparents and our good friends. Plus we had a surprise visit from Uncle Wayne who was in town to celebrate. We are very lucky that we can keep the parties small for now. I am sure when she gets a little older, we will start having bigger parties.
Here are some of the highlights from her 2nd birthday party!

The whole spread... Which followed the book with a few adaptations.
The day we celebrated Macie's birthday was also my dad's birthday. So I made a chocolate cake for my dad which is his favorite dessert.
I am also very proud of these cupcakes... I am working hard on perfecting my cupcake decorating skills. I am slowly getting there.

Not really sure why she is eating her cupcake that way. It was too funny!
She lives up to her nickname of Messy Macie very well!
She was also so excited about her presents. I just love her happy yet curious look on her face while she waits to open up her presents.
Macie and her best bud, Kenzie, playing together! It will be so fun to watch them grow up together. They are two of a kind!
Big hug goodbyes. We are very lucky to have such great friends who celebrate special events with us!
