Boys vs. Girls: The Johnson Family: Macie is 10 Months!

My little sweet pea is 10 months old! What happened to the time! I just love how she is becoming a big girl. But at the same time, I wish time would slow down. I love every moment that I get with her. She is so sweet and feisty! Macie makes our lives so much more full and complete. Macie is a Daddy's girl, but loves her brother to pieces! She lights up a room and squeals like no other when she is happy. We couldn't be more blessed to have our little girl!

Highlights of being 10 Months:

* Macie celebrated her first Thanksgiving. She enjoyed all of the treats of the day. Especially the sweet potatoes and corn. Oh, and the pumpkin pie!

* Macie got to meet Santa. We headed to my school for the Pancake Breakfast. So the Santa is a little sad... But you can't beat the price. We weren't too sure how she was going to react. But Macie did great. No tears!

* She got to celebrate Mikowash this year. It is a tradition that Matt's family celebrates and we do with our kids. It was her first taste of Christmas. She got a little treasure box. She loves to chew on the coins!

* We had a nice visit from Uncle Wayne. Macie wasn't too sure at first, but by the second day she was in LOVE with her Uncle Wayne.

* Also, Macie got a new carseat. Grandma & Grandpa Fildes bought one while they were here in October. We finally installed it over Thanksgiving. She loves it. She looks like such a Big Girl in it. Makes me so sad that she is almost a year old.

* Macie has been pulling herself up for a couple of months now. But she has figured out how to walk while holding on to things (couch, table, toys, etc.). It is just a matter of time before she takes off and is chasing her brother. She has even let go and stood on her own. Then she looks at you and falls down. It is like she doesn't know what to do after that. Pretty funny!

Sleep:

* Macie has had some ups and downs with sleep lately. The ups include her sleeping through the night. The downs are that if she has a cold or cough she gets up multiple times in the night.

* Also, she is now in this stage where she refuses to be rocked to sleep. Yes. We have been rocking her to sleep for the last 9 months. She is our last and only girl. So we rock her to sleep. But now that she refuses it, we have to let her cry it out. Makes me sad!

* She is a belly or side sleeper. I know she is supposed to sleep on her back. We lay her on her back and she flips over. Sorry. Nothing we can do about it. Also, if she falls asleep in her carseat, she crosses her legs. It is super cute!

Eats:

* Macie is a great eater. She really isn't picky.

* Recently we have been working with her on drinking from a sippy cup. She still isn't super sure about it. But we are getting there.

Likes:

* Macie is in love with basketball. Matt's basketball season has begun and we attend anywhere from 2-3 games a week. It is just part of our lives. Usually Macie is in bed by 7 pm. But we have late nights since the games don't begin until 7. She is such a trooper and enjoys every minute of watching the Big Boys play! Her favorite part is when she gets to crawl all over the court after the games.

This is my favorite photo because the girls are looking at each other.

* Macie loves to "chase" after her brother. Macie will crawl after Lucas after bath time. Lucas runs up and down the halls and Macie just takes off as fast as she can and laughs hysterically! It is one of my favorite moments of the day!

Dislikes:

* Macie is not a fan of the Christmas tree. Don't get me wrong, she loves to look at it... But she does not like to touch it. The first day we put it up, she went to crawl by it and it poked her. Now she won't go near it. It is pretty funny. Today she went to get a toy that was under it and she started to cry because it was touching her. Drama!

The past weekend we went and took family pictures. We usually head to the mountains, but it is finally getting chilly in AZ so we went to a park. I just love how the pictures turned out! Here are a few of the pictures. Again, we don't pay for someone to take our pictures. We just set up our camera and hit the timer button. They turned out pretty good!
