One of the many privileges of living where we do and the careers that we have chosen, are the sporting events in the school district. We truly do enjoy attending the events, even if it means that by the end of the night, I have ran 9 miles chasing Lucas around. It is completely worth the sore feet just to see how enthusiastic Lucas gets when he gets to play with the big boys... or the big girls in this case.
Last night we attended the Cienega annual Powder Puff game. Since the night was low key and the ladies weren't wearing football pads, we were allowed inside the football gates. They might as well have been Heaven's gates for Lucas. All last year during football season we had to stand outside the gates and Lucas had to peer through the fence to watch the boys play.
Once inside the fence, there was no containing Lucas in the stroller. My bad for even thinking about taking it. I should have just let him walk to the game and left the stroller in the car. He had the greatest time running around the football field and watching the ladies play. Of course, as he is a "ladies man" in every sense of the word, he was oohed and awed at by the ladies. Man am I going to be in TROUBLE when he gets older. He will be on LOCK DOWN!
Here is Lucas running around the "Big Boy" field.
Oh, I forgot to mention that Matt was one of the refs at the game which is why were we going.
Once Lucas saw Matt blow his whistle, he had to give it a try!
What is a night of football, if there aren't a couple of tackles (self imposed of course).
But we all know, Chicks dig scars.
Lucas had a blast throwing and chasing after the football.
He even took one of the footballs to the ladies.
That is where all of the oohs and awes started.
Also, we learned a knew little football phrase.
"Hike, Hike!"
Bring it on!
A future Cienega Bobcat football player in the making!
We all know we don't want him to be the other kind of "playa!"
