Macie is 16 Months!

Time is truly flying by. I really can't believe how fast Macie is growing up and how much she is changing every day. Everyday she is doing something different or saying a new word. It is really amazing. Macie is a blessing and we love her so much! Even her Big Brother loves her, even though there are moments you wouldn't think it could be possible. But if I go to put her down for a nap or to bed and he doesn't get to give her a kiss, it is the end of the world for him. I can't wait to see what their relationship will be like as they get older.

Highlights of being 16 Months:
* Macie has had many adventures of late. The most recent was her baptism. We finally got both children baptized and it was a huge celebration.

* Macie got to spend a lot of time with her cousins and Aunts and Uncle.

* Macie got her first black eye. Hopefully her only one. She was pushing a child chair  around the kitchen and it slipped out from under her and she hit her cheek bone on the back of the chair. Sad!

* Macie celebrated a couple of birthdays. One for her Cousin Morgan and one for her Cousin Makenzie. She is one to party hardy, especially if there are sweets involved.

* Macie had her first real playdates of the summer. One was having the kids to our house to play and one was with Makenzie at Springs gymnastics. Of course being only 1, she doesn't truly understand the meaning of playdates and that you play with the kids who are around you. But she had a great time regardless.

Words:
* No (This makes me sad. She says it a lot while she waves her hand wildly.)
* All done
* Thank you. This is my favorite phrase. She says it so cute.
* Circle & Triangle (we have been working very hard on her shapes)
* Some of her animals (doggie, cow, duck... Again we have been working on animals and their sounds.)
* Mickey & Donald.
* She is truly picking up a lot of words. While my family was here, she was even working on saying their names. It is so cute at how hard she tries to say everything.

Sleep:
* Macie is a great sleeper. I think with her age she is really starting to get into a good routine. She still takes 2 naps a day. Each one ranges from 1-2 hours. Just depends. We have tried to get it down to one nap a day, but she really likes her morning nap still. As for bed, she goes to bed between 7 & 7:30. She sleeps through the night and wakes between 6:30 & 7:30.
* Recently with her breaking her two bottom canines she has been having a few nights each week where she wakes up between 10 & 11 crying. She goes to sleep nicely, but then she wakes up and is almost inconsolable for about an hour. I spoke with the doctor about it today and she said it is because of her teeth. I knew that, but I didn't want to give her medicine if there might be another reason (like night terrors). So hopefully once they break through we will be back to her lovely sleeping pattern at night. But until then, little miss gets a little medicine to help soothe the pain. FIngers crossed!

Eats:
* Macie eats anything. She is an eater. Even though she has only gained 7 ounces in 4 months, she loves her food. She especially loves all fruit (except for watermelon). Her favorite foods include string cheese and graphs. She can't get enough of those. There really isn't anything that she won't eat. She is a little pickier when it comes to meat. But she is better about eating it than her brother.

Likes:
* Macie likes being outside. She always has and I think she likes it even more because usually she ends up in the pool or playing in the sprinkler.

I just love the expression on her face. Priceless!

The Stats: Macie is definitely our little peanut!!! She is going to be a petite little girl!
Weight: 20 pounds & 7 ounces (29th percentile)
Length: 30.1 inches (29th percentile)
Head Circumference: 46 cm (47th percentile)
Hair Color: brown with blonde and red highlights
Eye Color: Brown
Clothes Size: 12-18 months.
Shoe Size: 3 or 4 depending on the shoe.
Teeth: All but her bottom 2 canines (which she is breaking right now). Hopefully they will be in by the end of the week because teething bites for this little girl.

Here are a few random pictures of Macie over the last couple of months. She is quite the character.

LOVE THEM!
They are hiding in Lucas' couch and laughing!
TROUBLE!
Trying to pull out her hair bow. She does this all of the time.
Hanging out at the doctor's office waiting to be seen.

This is her saying, "All done!"
Little did she know, we hadn't even started. Sorry little girl.

Yep... That's my girl with her pj shirt half off and her hand down her pants.
That's how we roll!
